We continue in our study of the Gospel of John, and here, we look at Chapter 12, verses 27-34. Here, Jesus continues the conversation he is having with his disciples regarding his "going away". We are only a few days from the Crucifixion of Jesus, and he is preparing the disciples and others for his upcoming death. Most don't believe that he can die, because they cannot fathom a Messiah ruling Israel when they are dead. The explanation of the meanings surrounding this passage are easy to understand as explained by class teacher, Doug Brady. This is the 54th lesson in this ongoing series.

As we continue in our ongoing study of the Gospel of John, we find ourselves in the 11th chapter, and looking at verses 17-32. Here, Lazarus has died, and although one of his sisters has travelled to urge Jesus to come quickly, he lingers, and when he arrives in Bethel, Lazarus has already been buried. His sister, Martha, laments to Jesus: "Lord, if You ha dbeen here,my brother would not have died". This statement is the basis of this lesson, as taught by our longtime teacher, Doug Brady.

In this 46th lesson in the ongoing series of the Study of the Gospel of John, we look at John Chapter 10, and verses 32-42. In this section, class teacher Doug Brady emphasizes the fact that Jesus is God. He is the son of God and part of the Godhead, or Trinity, that is, God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit. Three in One. We can't really explain that, but it is the true fact. And the Pharisees and the Scribes are not happy at all that he claims to be God.

This is the 43rd lesson in this ongling series on the Gospel of John. We have reached the 10th chapter and today's lesson is taken from verses 7 to 10 of that chapter. Here we are continuing with the Abundant Life theme.
Jesus, the Door, through whom all who will be saved is also the Shepherd who wishes to provide abundant spiritual life to His own who have heard his voice and are following Him. He is not always concerned with our physical circumstances, but desires our knowing Him by experience, in communication, and intimacy through the events of life.

Monday Sep 25, 2017
This is the 41st lesson in this ongoing verse-by-verse study of the Gospel of John. Class teacher, Doug Brady, has titled this lesson, "The Perception of Healing", and it is taken from John 9:13-41. In this portion, we continue with the story of the healing of the man who was blind from birth (see lesson #40). The religious leaders are denying that it was Jesus who healed the man, but the blind man, now with perfect eyesight, claims it was Jesus, although he never saw the Lord. The intimidation used by the religious leaders is palpable, and needs to be understood in order to prepare ourselves for the false teaching that surrounds us in 21st century religion.

As we continue with our on-going verse-by-verse study of the Gospel of John, we find ourselves back in the 8th chapter, and verses 21-38. This is a continuation of last weeks lesson, and Jesus teaching his disciples about His ascension and iminent return to heaven and to his Father. He tells the religious establishment, the priests and the Pharisee's that they can't come with him or go to where He is going. Class teacher Doug Brady presents the reasons they can't go, and where it is they can't go, and where they will go. With that, you will find this lesson most interesting.

Our ongoing study of the Gospel of John takes us to the eighth chapter, and verses 12-20, for a lesson class teacher Doug Brady has named, "The Light of the World". Here, as we study the second of the "I AM" statements by Jesus, studying this through the eyes of the original language (Greek), we can get a better picture of what the meanings of the words really are. And since our teacher is a student of Greek and Hebrew, he brings an interesting and accurate rendering of this passage. This is the 37th lesson in this ongoing series.

Sunday Jul 30, 2017
Today, we take a slight detour and look at a technical issue within the scriptures. Every so often, you will hear or read that such-and-such scripture was added later, and that it shouldn't be in the Bible. Class teacher, Doug Brady, gives 8 tests that can be used to determine if it is part of the Bible, or perhaps had been added later. We all want to carefully discern the contents of the Holy Scriptures, and this lesson will assist you in making those determinations. This is the 36th lesson in this series on the Gospel of John.

In the passage you will learn about stones, stoning, sin, forgiveness, and redemption. You are going to love this.

There is a lot of information in this lesson, so Doug admonishes you to listen good and listen fast. Turn to John chapter 7, and verses 30-52.

Sunday Jun 25, 2017
This is the 4th lesson in a mini-sub-series within the major study of the Gospel of John. We have been looking at a heretical church movement in America that takes away much of what the Bible has to say. It is filled with dangerous spiritual practices, which are discussed in detail on the previous weeks lessons (Lessons 28, 29, and 30). Now, class teacher Doug Brady looks at things to watch for to discover if the church you are attending or considering is part of this heretical movement. This is vital information for Christians everywhere. Next week, we will return to the study of the Gospel of John, beginning in the 7th chapter.

Sunday Jun 11, 2017
Last week, Believer's Bible Class (First Baptist Church, Dallas, Texas) Doug Brady taught from the 6th chapter of the Gospel of John, and found a description in the scriptures of the currently popular Emergent Church, which is growing in America, as well as around the world. This is a heretical offshoot of the Christian message, and Doug, after careful and extensive study, is ready to describe the Emergent Church to you, as well as show you the Heresy's that are being taught in this church group. This description will continue again in next weeks lesson.

This is the 28th lesson in this ongoing series on the Gospel of John. Here, we continue a subject started in last weeks lesson (#27) regarding the number one heresy being practiced in American Churches today. It is known as the Emergent Church. Taking his lead from several verses at the end of John chapter 6, Class teacher Doug Brady explores this heresy, and describes the practices that make the Emergent Church so dangerous to the Evangelism of the World. There will be at least one more week, if not two more weeks, to continue and complete this study.

Tuesday May 23, 2017
We continue with this ongoing study in the Gospel of John by turning to the 6th chapter and verses 41-66. Class teacher Doug Brady explains this passage, as well as introduces a special study within the study of the emergent church. This will continue over the next several lessons, and you will want this information to protect yourself against the false teaching that exists in that movement.
