This is the final lesson in the ongoing series, The Fear of God. We have learned a great deal about God, Hs attributes, and His expectations of us. In this series, class teacher Doug Brady has gone into great detail about how we should revere and reverence God (Yahweh), and in this last lesson, we learn that we are to honor the Name of God. Just how important is the name of God? And if it is so important, why do we use the name "God" so trivially in our daily walk and talk. Everywhere you go, you hear the name of God bandered about, many times in a very derisive and nasty way. How long will God put up with this lack of respect for His name? Today's lesson addresses this and more.

Today's lesson, titled "Fearing God's Discipline" is taken from Acts 5:1-14, as well as other scriptures, and class teacher Doug Brady, asks several questions regarding this subject. Questions (and answers) such as: Why does God discipline his children? And, If God does not discipline you, what are the possible reasons? With scripture reference in II Peter 1:13-17, you find answers to this and other questions on the subject of holiness and fear.

And we looked a signs that are proof that we fear God. This is the 7th lesson in this ongoing series.

Tuesday Jun 16, 2015
Tuesday Jun 16, 2015
This is the 5th in our current series on "The Fear of God". So far, we have learned that the term "fear" should be translated with a word like "respect", as a true Fear of God equals a radical respect for God the Creator. Class teacher, Doug Brady, is developing this theme with a different aspect each week, and this week we look at the ways we can draw closer to God, even to the point of personal conversations, give and take, with the God of the universe. The scripture text for this lesson is found in Exodus, the 19th and 20th chapter. If you desire a closer walk with God, this series, and this lesson, is presented just for you.

In our ongoing series on the Fear of God, class teacher is taking a particular area each week and expanding on it. This week, we look at who God is, what He is, and what our response should be to Him. Class teacher, Douglas Brady, outlines the failures we have fallen into in our relationship with God, i.e., using His name in vain, giving him the leftovers of our life, failing to reverence Him, and withholding the respect that He deserves. If we are to expect God's blessing on our lives, we need to clean up our act regarding our opinion of who He is.

This is the third lesson in this new series on "The Fear of God". In the last two lessons, we began to understand the meaning and importance of fearing God. This fear is not as we translate the word in English, but rather, it is a level of respect that we show to God. In todays lesson, class teacher, Doug Brady, explains this a little further with a great illustration based on "cooking". You'll love the way it is presented. If we expect to receive the blessings from God, then we need to learn to fear God, and fear Him continually.

Our current study is on "The Fear of God". This is the 2nd lesson in this series. In this lesson, we learn the Obedience, Radical Obedience, is not enough for a Christian. A correct Fear of God is essential for a wholesome relationship with Him. Class teacher, Doug Brady, discusses this, and also looks into the book of Ecclesiastes, Chapter 12, verse 13 where we find this phrase: "this is the whole duty of man." What is meant by this statement? You'll learn all about it in this lesson.

With this lesson, we begin a new Bible Study Series, which we call "The Fear of God". In this series, class teacher Doug Brady will answer questions like:
--- If our God is a loving and merciful God, who extended grace to us in our time of need, does He expect us to fear Him?
--- Does the Bible teach the fear of God for New Testament saints, or did fearing God go away when Jesus was resurrected from the dead?
--- If we are to fear Him, what does that mean and how do we learn to fear our Father/Creator?
This new study will answer these, and many more questions regarding the Fear of God. We will learn that the fourth pillar in our relationship with the God who first loved us, is a righteous fear, a fear that drives us NOT away from Him, but into His arms.
This is the first lesson in this series.
