Friends. Godly Friends. It was God's intention from the very beginning that we would have Godly Friends, those that would lend us help when we slip and fall in our Christian life. King David was no different than us. He had sinned, he had broken his covenant with God, and it was his friends who came to his rescue and led him in the way to be a Man After God's Own Heart. This is the 25th lesson in this ongoing series.

Class teacher, Doug Brady, has made this very interesting, as well as very convicting as we listen and perhaps compare with our own experiences. This is the 24th lesson in this series.

David Sinned. We saw that in great detail in the last several lessons. So what is the punishment? Did God dismiss those sins because he was such a friend of David? Today's lesson looks at the aftermath of the series of sins committed by David. This is a lesson that contains much that brings our thoughts and lives into perspective, as we think about the punishment God will deliver when we sin. This is the 23rd lesson in this ongoing series.

Can you imagine God saying the you are a man or woman after God's own heart? What an honor, and what a responsibility this would be. Young David, son of Jesse, who is only in his teens has that title left for us after all of these centuries in the pages of the Holy Bible. In our series on "KING DAVID - A MAN AFTER GOD'S OWN HEART", class teacher Doug Brady is finding the secrets that God uses to make David into that kind of a man. And since they are in our Bibles, it is obvious that we, too, can achieve that level with God. In this lesson, David is hiding in a cave because of the jealousy and lack of integrity of King Saul. This lesson is taken from First Samuel, chapter 21, and is the 11th lesson in this ongoing series.

It seems that although we in modern times seem to not see them, there are idols in the lives of Christians everywhere today. Such was the case in the days of David, and today's lesson addresses that subject . . . the existence and power of idols. Class teacher, Doug Brady, looks at the accomplishments of young David, and the list is long, and then shows how those accomplishments can really be idols. How many idols do you worship? Now, be careful when answering that question, because there are some that you might not even consider idols. Doug explains this in today's lesson. This is the 10th lesson in this ongoing study of the life of King David - A Man After God's Own Heart.

We are enjoying the study of the life of KING DAVID - A MAN AFTER GOD'S OWN HEART. Today is the 9th lesson in this series, and we continue looking at the aftermath of the battle between the Philistines and the Israelites. You know that the Philistines have sent their champion, Goliath, a mammoth man who, according to the scriptures, was 9 feet 6 inches tall. He was feared by all, and especially the armies of Saul. Goliath daily taunted the Israelites, and no one wanted to take him up on fighting him. But then, a young boy, in his mid-teens, with the name David stepped forward and, without the help of the heavy uniform and massive weapons slew the giant Goliath with a single stone and his sling. Our current studies are looking at the aftermath of that battle that only took a few minutes. Today, we see the jealousy and lack of integrity of the King, Saul from First Samuel, Chapter 17, started with verse 17.
